EEC sincerely commits to ensure that all courses offered comply with the national guidelines and regulations. All courses are approved and accredited by the Preschool Qualification Accreditation Committee and are registered with the Ministry of Education.Program Philosophy
The EtonHouse Education Centre strongly advocates for the best interest of young children based on an acknowledgment of young children’s presence as citizens in their own right. The task of the candidate early childhood pedagogue is to develop skills in helping children connect with their worlds with all possible potentials, strengths, and languages. The EEC supports and encourages the development of knowledgeable, sensitive and responsive adults as children’s partners and supporters in learning. The issue of quality in early childhood services has been a focus of global discourse for some time. The basic tenet that the EEC proposes is that quality should be defined in terms of the child’s experience of their preschool setting. The teacher education programs are considered within the Singapore context, but also recognise and acknowledge the respected work other developed nations are presenting about high quality services for young children. The EEC therefore supports the development of high quality early childhood education through the promotion of an image of the child who is worth listening to and who has the courage to think and act autonomously.
